The State of Linkedin
Today LinkedIn, the most popular professional social network, has reached the mark of 150 million members worldwide, according to its own advertising tool. It’s growth rate is slowly increasing: on March 2011 users were 100 million.
60% of users are outside United States. Top countries are: U.S.A., India, U.K.,Brazil, Canada. Among European countries the most active are: The Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain.
Womens are growing but 58% of members are still men. 36% of users are between 25-34 years old while 35% are 35-54 years old.
The most represented industries are hi-tech (14%), finance (12%) and manufacturing (10%). Top jobs are entrepreneurship (12%), sales (11%), operations (10%).

61% of members are men. Both users between 25-34 and 35-54 years old are 36%, while 18-24 years old are 21%.
The most represented industries are hi-tech (17%), finance (14%) and manufacturing (10%), while sales (12%), academics (10%), administrative (10%) are the most common job functions.

LinkedIn, the most popular professional social network launched exactly 7 years ago, has updated its advertising tool to allow individuals/companies to buy “Direct Ads”. This simple tool is also a rich source of information about registered users.
LinkedIn has almost 69 million members in over 200 countries (the tool shows info only about 20 of them). U.S.A., India and U.K are the countries with more users. The Netherlands has the highest adoption rate per capita outside the US at 30%.
Unsurprising men outnumber women and 51% of users are between 25 and 34 years old. The most represented industries are hi-tech (16%), finance (12%) and manufacturing (10%), while engineering (15%), sales (11%), administrative (9%) are the most common job functions.
