Google ha reso disponibile Gemini 2.0, una nuova versione del suo chatbot che contiene 4 nuovi modelli linguistici tra i quali scegliere. La novità è che per la prima volta tutti, anche gli utenti che non hanno un abbonamento a Gemini Advanced, possono usare il funzionamento di un modello di “reasoning” dell’azienda di Mountain View. Una mossa sicuramente dettata dal successo di DeepSeek R1 e dalla successiva gratuità di o3-mini (seppur in una versione limitata).
Alcuni di questi modelli sono ancora in fase sperimentale, ma segnano un bel passo in avanti rispetto alle versioni precedenti. Sono tutti caratterizzati da una grande velocità di esecuzione.

Gemini 2.0 Flash, diventato il modello di default, prende il posto di 1.5 Pro. È un ottimo compromesso tra capacità e velocità; Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental è il primo modello di “reasoning” di Google (competitor di o3-mini di OpenAI) in grado di affrontare problemi complessi attraverso un processo multi-step di “chain of thoughts”; Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental with apps è il modello precedente addestrato ad utilizzare le app di Google, per il momento Maps, Search e YouTube. In pratica, un modello agentivo che può essere il vero punto di forza di Big G; Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental, sarà il prossimo modello di punta.
